Descripción:

- Bigotera de una sola pieza, con utilización exclusiva para tinta de la Segunda Mitad S. XIX.

- Probablemente pertenecería a una caja de compases.

- Tiene la inscripción “Norton & Gregory Ltd”. Compañía inglesa fabricantes de instrumentos de dibujo y matemáticas, de aparatos y materiales de oficina.

- El mango es de una aleación de metales blancos, con un bulón. Está estriado para mejorar la sujeción.

- La apertura de la bigotera, o sea, la distancia entre el brazo de aguja y el brazo con el cuerpo de las lengüetas se gradúa mediante una ruedecilla que se enrosca a un bulón roscado, fijado al brazo de la aguja mediante un micro bulón, lo que permite su giro.

- Ésta distancia es la que permite fijar el radio de la circunferencia que se pretende dibujar.

- La aguja se gradúa y se fija mediante una ruedecilla que tiene incorporado un pequeño bulón roscado.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- La aguja y las puntas del tiralíneas se encuentran en buen estado. La calidad de los materiales y fabricación de la bigotera es muy buena.

- El Objeto presenta el desgaste propio de su tiempo.

Comentarios:

- Tanto las Medidas, como el Peso, son aproximados.

- Muy interesante como pieza de colección y como elemento decorativo.

Description:

- One-piece moustache box, used exclusively for ink from the second half of the 19th century.

- It probably belonged to a compass box.

- It has the inscription "Norton & Gregory Ltd". An English company, manufacturers of drawing and mathematical instruments, apparatus and office supplies.

- The handle is made of a white metal alloy, with a bolt. It is knurled to improve the grip.

- The opening of the moustache, i.e. the distance between the needle arm and the arm with the body of the reed, is adjusted by means of a small wheel which is screwed onto a threaded pin, fixed to the needle arm by means of a micro pin, which allows it to be rotated.

- This distance is used to set the radius of the circumference to be drawn.

- The needle is graduated and fixed by means of a wheel with a small threaded pin.

Preservation and damage:

- The needle and the points of the drawing pen are in good condition. The quality of the materials and workmanship of the moustache is very good.

- The object shows wear and tear typical of it's age.
