Artista de vidrieras y educador. Nacido en Edimburgo, Russell se formó en el Edinburgh College of Art. Enseñó en la Escuela de Diseño en Duncan de la Escuela de Arte Jordanstone en Dundee y fue su Director (1922-60).
Su trabajo se puede ver en iglesias de toda Escocia, junto con City Chambers en Dundee, Queen Victoria School en Dunblane, Perth Crematorium y Dundee Crematorium. También se pueden ver ejemplos de su trabajo en Lusaka (Zambia) y Orleans (Francia).
Russell se desempeñó como presidente de la Sociedad Polaca Escocesa y recibió la Cruz de Mérito Dorada, el premio civil más importante de Polonia, por su trabajo con los refugiados.
Stained glass artist and educator. Born in Edinburgh, Russell trained at Edinburgh College of Art. He taught at the School of Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee and served as its Head (1922-60).
His work can be seen in churches throughout Scotland, together with the City Chambers in Dundee, Queen Victoria School in Dunblane, Perth Crematorium and Dundee Crematorium. Examples of his work can also be seen in Lusaka (Zambia) and Orleans (France).
Russell served as President of the Scottish Polish Society and was presented with the Gold Cross of Merit, the highest Polish civilian award, for his work with refugees.
