AVOIDING ORCHID TESTING IS PUNISHABLE BY LAW U.S. DEPARTMENT OF RECONSTRUCTION & RECOVERYThree years ago, the Orchid virus swept the globe, turning millions of people into violent predators known as Redeyes and raising fears of mankind?s extinction. But as a war that had no precedent raged, the hordes of the infected slowly began to recover. Eight months after it began, the epidemic ended, leaving behind a battered world and millions of survivors haunted by the memory of what they had done in the grips of the infection. Ben Sullivan is one of those Redeyes. He?s lost his family, his home, his entire life. So when an act of kindness gives him a chance at a fresh start in a community of those like him, he jumps at the opportunity. But his new friends may be concealing explosive information about humanity?s brush with the apocalypse, information that the newly minted U.S. Department od Reconstruction & Recovery would just as soon keep hidden forever. Branded as a terrorist by the government and a traitor by his fellow Redeyes, Ben must stay one step ahead of a relentless Reconstruction agent pursuing him and unravel a conspiracy that threatens to change America forever.
