The plates include Machine Locomotive construite par M. R. Stephenson, Newcastle (double page), machine de Watt à double action (construite par M. W. Hick de Bolton), machine de Evans, machine de Watt à double action por bateau a vapeur (construite par M.M. Fawcett & Preston, Liverpool), etc. etc. The binding is a little battered, with a corner missing on the back cover. Interiors very clean, all plates (except one) with their original protective tissue; some very light foxing, but more on the tissue than on the plates. The 1st ed. was published in 1839 in 8º (23 cm), in one volume and contained only one plate. This second volume appears to be considerably rarer. Atlas volume only.
