Descripción:

- Grabado correspondiente a la Lámina 10 de Arquitectura, perteneciente a la Enciclopedia Popular Ilustrada de Ciencias y Artes, realizada por Federico Gillman, y formada con arreglo a la Enciclopedia Iconográfica y el Conversations Lexicon de Alemania.

- En el grabado aparecen monumentos de la ciudad de Roma.

- En el margen superior tiene el título “ARQUITECTURA”, y en el ángulo superior derecho tiene impreso “Lam. 10”, lo que lo identifica como el Grabado número 10 de una serie sobre arquitectura.

- En el margen inferior se sitúan las identificaciones de los distintos monumentos romanos como, por ejemplo, Arco de triunfo de Constantino, casa en Pompeya, Panteón de Roma, etc.

- Grabado Calcográfico al aguafuerte sobre acero, aunque también podría haberse utilizado otra técnica distinta.

- Realizado en tono monocolor negro, muy bien de tinta, centrado con aceptables márgenes y con una buena estampación.

- Que el Grabado tenga algún Distintivo, Marca o Contraste, es de gran importancia para poder identificar datos como su grabador, el dibujante, el sitio donde se imprimió y otros detalles.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- Estado General Bueno.

- El Grabado tiene un papel de espesor medio y regular calidad.

- El papel está algo sucio, y con muy pocas manchas de óxido.

- El Grabado tiene pequeños rotos y dobleces en los bordes y las puntas.

- Si se le aplica una limpieza, el resultado podría ser muy aceptable.

Comentarios:

- Las Medidas son aproximadas.

- Los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

Description:

- Engraving corresponding to Plate 10 of Architecture, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.

- The engraving depicts monuments of the city of Rome.

- In the upper margin is the title ‘ARCHITECTURE’, and in the upper right-hand corner is printed ‘Lam. 10’, which identifies it as Engraving No. 10 in a series on architecture.

- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different Roman monuments, such as the Triumphal Arch of Constantine, the house in Pompeii, the Pantheon in Rome, etc.

- Intaglio etching on steel, although another technique could also have been used.

- Made in black monochrome tone, very well inked, centred with acceptable margins and with a good stamping.
