Impresionante pareja de lienzos en los que se presentan dos escenas distintas con querubines alados o putti. Las figuras se presentan en tondos, centrados en el lienzo, enmarcados por guirnaldas florales y coronados por un gran lazo. En uno de los tondos se muestra a una pareja de querubines, uno mirando directamente al espectador y el otro besando la mejilla del primero. En el segundo tondo, un único putto se pasea con los ojos vendados y una antorcha en la mano. Ambas son composiciones dinámicas, de líneas suaves y colores delicados que se caracterizan por su expresiva puesta en escena.

Firmados por D. Berthault y fechados en 1922, por lo que se inscriben en el período Art Nouveau. El enfoque artístico del uso de putti en las obras de arte durante el modernismo fue completamente diferente al del Barroco. En esta época, se utilizaban principalmente como elementos decorativos, siempre integrados en diseños florales y vegetales. Los putti se reinventan con un carácter más ornamental y menos recargado, integrándose en un patrón ornamental con una narrativa artística general, como una boiserie. La imagen de Cupido proviene de la evolución de Cupido / Eros, que durante el Renacimiento se transformó en putti. Cupido era el dios romano del amor, hijo de Venus y Marte.

Impressive pair of canvases depicting two distinct scenes with winged cherubs or putti. The figures are presented in tondos, centered on the canvas, framed by floral garlands and crowned with a large bow. One tondo shows a pair of cherubs, one looking directly at the viewer and the other kissing the first's cheek. In the second tondo, a single putto walks blindfolded, carrying a torch. Both are dynamic compositions with soft lines and delicate colors, characterized by their expressive staging.

Signed by D. Berthault and dated 1922, these pieces belong to the Art Nouveau period. The artistic approach to the use of putti in artworks during Art Nouveau was completely different from that of the Baroque. At that time, they were primarily used as decorative elements, always integrated into floral and vegetal designs. Putti were reinvented with a more ornamental and less ornate character, becoming part of an ornamental pattern with an overall artistic narrative, such as a boiserie. The image of Cupid stems from the evolution of Cupid/Eros, which during the Renaissance transformed into putti. Cupid was the Roman god of love, son of Venus and Mars.
