Everlasting Love is a book about my spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ. It all began when one of my classmates gave me a photo of a Jesus look-alike along with a simple prayer booklet about the Christian faith. We were just twelve years old, but a few of my classmates loved to talk about Jesus. I often wondered why they spoke about Him so much. What was so special about Him?
My heart was overjoyed when I received those items related to the Christian faith; it felt as if I had discovered a great treasure in my life. Whenever I saw butterflies pass by, my heart filled with happiness and joy, as if the Lord Jesus were sending His angels to escort me. I was truly falling in love with Jesus. Since coming to know Him, I felt something different within myself-this is merely a brief introduction to my love for Jesus.
My mistake was that as I grew up, I focused more on worldly things than on the Lord Jesus, and that was the start of my downfall. At that time, my life felt empty and meaningless. My heart kept seeking everything except Jesus. I have no idea how I could have forgotten my first love so easily and pursued uncertain things. Back then, I attended Catechism classes at my dad?s house, led by one of the church brothers, but I took them lightly and overlooked their significance. Now, however, I clearly understand that once I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, my old self died in Christ, and I became a new creation in Him.
Recently, I had a vision of Jesus walking along the beach, leaving footprints behind him. It made me realize that in a world full of challenges, we can only live holy lives and truly follow God by walking in Jesus? footsteps. There is no other way. Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. I pray that after reading this book, many will be empowered by the Holy Spirit and begin walking with confidence in the Lord?s path.
