Standing on the High Mountain is a book about my spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ. This experience has left a lasting mark on my soul, and I will carry it with me always. I want to begin by sharing a vision of my church members and me carrying heavy crosses on our shoulders, moving step by step toward the summit of the High Mountain. Some were ahead of me, walking to the top, and when I looked back, I saw many still carrying their crosses and walking slowly.
After so many years living as a Christian, I now understand that I must bear a heavy cross in my life. I need to reject all that is evil and hold to what is right. I must wage a spiritual war against three foes that seek to enslave me: the world (worldly system), the flesh (the old man), and the devil (the persecutor). I have to deny myself, take up the cross daily, and follow Jesus. (Matthew 16:24) I also believe the Lord will give me the strength to reach the peak of that High Mountain and help me win this life?s battle. He does not leave me like an orphan. Hallelujah!
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. - James 1:12.
